Process Improvement in Systems with Lean and Six Sigma
A Panel Discussion
Wednesday April 20th at 6PM
Featuring Mike Darrish, Crystal Davis, Ian Kowalski, Yoel Yohan
(location details provided below Eventbrite link)
About This Panel Discussion:
It is common today that systems and software professionals hear about, participate in, or perhaps lead Lean, Six Sigma or other projects to improve a software process or even an entire system.
As organizations gain experience and mature, their projects tend to move from quick wins and “just do it” projects, to a tools based approach, through repeated, successful problem solving, all the way to sustainable, continuous improvements in their systems and the surrounding culture. Unfortunately, not all organizations make it to that last maturity level.
In the April Atlanta SPIN meeting, a panel of four local Lean and Six Sigma practitioners and consultants will lead a lively discussion as SPIN attendees ask questions and contribute their knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and other improvement methodologies, appropriate applications of each methodology, stories of what has and hasn’t worked, and what they would do differently, given the chance.
The goal is to share real world, practical experience of sustainable improvement techniques and models and to increase SPIN attendees’ practical and theoretical knowledge.
“In theory, theory and practice are the same thing. In practice, they are not.” -- A. Einstein
